The festival, which was held in Old Town Bowl, drew crowds in their hundreds all to listen to the best local music Swindon and Wiltshire had to offer.
From 12pm to 10pm, the festival took over Old Town Gardens with fairground rides, stalls and live music on two stages.
And it was all in aid of Prospect Hospice in tribute to music scene legend Dave Young, the former owner of The Vic and 12 Bar, who tragically,died earlier this year from cancer and was cared for at the hospice.
Organiser Ed Dyer, of Swindon Shuffle who helped put the festival together, said: “I can’t thank everyone enough. It was such a good day and the crowds all had a fantastic time. It was so lovely to see everyone smiling in the sun.
“All the profit from the event is going straight to Prospect Hospice including any profit from the bar which was run by The Tuppenny. So many people from the volunteers to all the bands gave up their time for free and it showed what a huge influence Dave Young had on all of us.
“We’re still counting the exact money raised but a conservative estimate looks like it’s going to top £10,000.”
Bands such as Hip Route, Black Sheep Apprentice, Slagerij, THUD!, The Erin Bardwell Trio, Gaz Brookfield and The Company of Thieves and Kove Me Badd wowed the crowds on the main stage alongside Dave’s former bands The Boys from County Hell and The Chaos Brothers.
On the acoustic stage, which was open to the public even those without a ticket, crowds gathered to listen to Plummie Racket accompanied by Laura Johnson, The B-Sydes, Gilmour n Jaz, Nash, Ghosts of the Machine, Tamsin Quinn, The Lost Trades, and The Shudders.
The charity festival was run by the people behind The Swindon Shuffle in partnership with South Swindon Parish Council and Swindon Link. The main committee was made up of Andy Loddington, Ed Dyer, Jamie Hill, Paul Jellings and Dave’s widow Anna Sprawson.
