Winner of the National Geographic Book Of The Year 2021 and adventurer Monisha Rajesh comes to Oxford

By Tyler Ody

Adventurer and author Monisha Rajesh will be sharing fascinating insights from her 45,000 mile adventure across the globe by train in February. Packing up her rucksack - and her fiancé, Jem - Monisha embarked on an unforgettable adventure that took her from London’s St Pancras station to the vast expanses of Russia and Mongolia, North Korea, Canada, Kazakhstan, and beyond. The journey was one of constant movement and mayhem, of friendships with hilarious, irksome and ultimately endearing travellers met on board, all while taking in some of the earths most breathtaking views. Expect exciting tales from the cloud-skimming heights of Tibets Qinghai railway to silk-sheeted splendour on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express. Monisha will share the joys and moments of despair that were part of her epic journey at The North Wall Arts Centre in Oxford on the 25th of February. The event, part of the Kendal Mountain Festival UK Tour, also features award winning
adventure films from those creating waves in the worlds of cycling, skiing, mountaineering, swimming and regenerative farming - to name just a few! Steve Scott, director of Kendal Mountain Festival and Tour presenter says: “Kendal is all about adventure; stories of extreme human endurance, breathtaking environments and adrenaline-fuelled excitement. Our Tour events are mini-Festivals that distil this spirit of adventure and exploration into one unique evening.” Tickets are available via the Tour website
