On 2nd June 2023 Sophie Ellis Bextor released her Seventh studio album Hana through Cooking Vinyl.

This Sophie’s first album since 2016s Famillia Hana is the thrid album and final album to be produced by Ed Harecourt who worked on her previous two albums before.

Hana was inspired her visit to Japan alongside her Mum and son before the Covid 19 Pandemic.

When the lockdown impletated after her return Sophie Explained that Japan became a rich inspirational ladscape to go to our heads. The title Hana was inspirerd by its translation for Flower or Blossom.

Sophie released Breaking the Circle on the 8th Febuary 2023 being the debut single to come off the album which was an excellent choice in my eyes.

A month later she released Everything is Sweet and then in April she released the last single apptly titled Lost in the Sunshine.

When Hana was released Sophie did a listening party on her YouTube and went on TV shows such as BBC Breakfast, The One Show and even a performance at Galstonbury.

I love all 12 tracks and the sound of the album is so unique compared to her back catalogue showing how talented she is.
