The British Björk

Later this month the critically acclaimed You Are Wolf will be showcasing a set of sheer wonder in Wiltshire.

Comprised of experimental composer Kerry Andrew, with multi-instrumentalists Sam Hall and Peter Ashwell You Are Wolf is an elemental infused trio of hybridity.

Heading to Holt Village Hall, October 21, their latest expedition centres on freshwater folklore which undoubtedly draws comparisons to Björk’s boundless exploration into avant-garde compositions.

Uncut Magazine summarises: “Imagine Björk working her magic on the English folk tradition.”

You Are Wolf have an impressive resume, to say the least, having presence on BBC 6Music, New York radio station WFUV and Radio 3’s The Verb. Kerry herself is also a published author as well as solo composer and prestigious winner of three British Composer Awards.

There’s something incredibly tranquil but intense about these freshwater songs. The project is the soundtrack to your dreams; incredibly levitating as they play with elements of shoegazing, pop, electronica and folk.

The Observer reviewed You Are Wolf’s album, Hawk to the Hunting Gone, as: “an adventurous debut, a concept album exploring the mythic qualities of birds, along with hushed electro-pop backdrops from producer MaJiKer.

“Andrew’s vocals are suitably airy and larkish… English avant-folk at its finest”
