Swindon's Meca to host Bob Marley tribute night this January

Legend: The Bob Marley Experience, will be visiting Swindon’s Meca in the new year.

Legend are a seven-piece band of musicians and singers dedicated to celebrating the life and music of the late Bob Marley.

The tribute show will take place at Meca on 28 January. Doors open at 7pm.

A spokesperson said of the group: “This dynamic band, led by the charismatic Michael Anton Phillips (Cheesy) has a pedigree second to none, whose members have worked with such reggae greats as: The Mighty Diamonds, Dennis Brown, Rankin Roger, The Beat, Burning Spear, Apache Indian, Johnny 2 Bad, Errol Dunkley, George and Desmond Decker, Musical Youth, and many more.

“The musicianship is flawless, with that irresistible reggae groove compelling you to move and the presence of Bob Marley himself invoked in the skilled and respectful portrayal by Michael.”

Legend’s two-hour show is said to cover the very best of Bob Marley’s classic tracks, including Is This Love, No Woman No Cry, Waiting in Vain, Exodus, I Shot The Sheriff, Jamming, Could You Be Loved.

As well as the music, attendees can enjoy food and merchandise stalls.

Early bird tickets are priced at £13 and general sale tickets are priced at £16.
