Stone Foundation have announced details of their forthcoming album

Pending its release October 13 Stone Foundation will head out on tour to Witney debuting their latest, and live, album Live Rituals.

A testament to how far Stone Foundation have travelled over the years and the accompanying rise in their reputation as a credible and exciting live band, the album was recorded at the Islington Assembly Rooms in London and features appearances from Paul Weller, Dr Robert and Danny Champ.

Fresh from their set at O2’s Shepherd Bush, the band will be making tracks to Witney November 1 at Fat Lils.

Neil Sheasby says; “I always prefer to think of our gigs as an event, a happening. They feel like inclusive affairs, on the best nights you can feel the band and audience working together in tandem.

“A good crowd can certainly spur us on to reach new highs. No performance is ever really the same, I guess that’s what keeps it fresh and interesting for our fans.

I think it’s probably fitting that “Live Rituals” was recorded in London as it’s always been a special place for Stone Foundation, the capitol city is where we cut our teeth as a live band after years of treading the boards at pubs, clubs or as an opening act for already established artists.”

Following on from a phenomenal performance supporting Paul Weller at The Royal Albert Hall, Stone Foundation released their critically acclaimed studio album ‘Street Rituals’ on March 31 which reached 25 in the UK album charts, 2 in the indie chart and 5 in the vinyl chart.

The bands fourth studio album was produced by Paul Weller, who also features on all the tracks (piano, guitar and vocal including lead vocal on ‘Your Balloon Is Rising’).

Elsewhere on the album there are stunning contributions from legendary soul singers William Bell, who lends his voice to ‘Strange People’, and the unmistakable tones of Bettye Lavette, providing the lead on ‘Season of Change’.

The collaboration between Stone Foundation and these internationally celebrated artists cements the bands incredible reputation as one of the finest British Soul bands in existence.

Mojo magazine said: “The soul album of the year - yes, it is that good.”
