A crew of talented SAE Oxford students have opened a crowdfunding page to fund their World War II short film The Hunt.
Depicted as “a different kind of war film”, The Hunt is set in Nazi-occupied France where five allied soldiers, including Captain Robert Toogood, are being held captive by the notoriously wicked Nazi Major Wenzel Pichler and his men. As the film unfolds, the imprisoned soldiers are given the chance to escape by running for their lives, but it transpires that they will be hunted like animals and killed if caught.

The idea of exploring a sadistic game of cat and mouse came from directors Benjamin Eeley and Joel Rundle who had a joint desire to make a film set during the second World War that had the tension and thrill of a chase film.
Joel Rundle Producer/Co-director explained: “We haven’t set out to make a typical war film based on a specific event or historical character, we want to make a compelling fictional thriller rooted in the very real context of World War 2.”
Now with the script ready and the cast and crew finalised, the team are ready to embark on creating this highly anticipated film.
The crew includes Benjamin Eeley as Co-Director and Director of Photography, Joel Rundle as Co-Director and Producer, Chloe Bond as Editor, Lauren Ridgway as 1st AC, Tom Williams as Camera Operator, Ellie Owen in charge of Hair and Makeup, Chris Cosby as Gaffer, Holly Bark as Photographer, Tom Cooper as Composer, Richard Stedman as Sound Designer and Borja Cerveza as Sound Recordist. All are current SAE students studying at the Oxford campus in Littlemore.

A host of talented actors are set to be involved with the cast including Martin Nadin as Wenzel Pichler, Ed Porter as a Nazi soldier, Ben Readings as Captain Robert Toogood, Ben Ter Haar as a British soldier, Jordan Danells as Eric Dean and William George as James “Jim” Byrne.
With a talented crew and cast behind it, The Hunt has already received a lot of interest and support. It promises to be a thrilling, captivating and high-quality film so it is vital that the funding target of £11,000 is met to ensure the cast and crew can execute it effectively.
Benjamin Eeley Director/Writer/DoP said: “The film isn’t trying to be a large Hollywood action film, but its following the individual survival story of the men involved during conflict.”
