Level 3 in Swindon welcomes home Thought Forms in February

Wiltshire promoters Sheer Music have announced Wiltshire come-Bristol based post-rock band THOUGHT-FORMS will be performing at Swindon’s prestigious Level III venue.

And the best part is, the show is going to be 14+ so the next generation can get a taste of what can be achieved through music!

Once the haunt of many a national touring band, Level III has long been off the touring circuit, but Sheer have been bringing the likes of Gnarwolves, Decade, Solemn Sun and Jonah Matranga (Deftones / Far) in the past year, and this gig continues the trend in bringing cutting edge music to Swindon.

THOUGHT-FORMS are a Wiltshire band, now of Bristol, who formed in 2004. Winning the Bath Moles club battle of the bands, they recorded their first demo “For The Moving Stars” that set them apart from their peers and every band in the area.

Their atmospheric, sprawling and cinematic soundscapes brought them to the attention of Portishead’s Geoff Barrow, who runs Bristol label INVADA

Their self titled début album followed, with tours of Europe not far behind. Tours across the United States opening for Portishead in 2011 and a second album “Ghost Mountain” cemented their sonic progression and status of the most significant band to come out of Wiltshire since XTC, the album was heralded with critical acclaim across the board.

The trio then supplied music for Alex Garlands (The Beach, 28 Days Later) independent film EX_MACHINA before touring Europe opening for 65 Days Of Static in 2016.

It was announced that JIM BARR Portishead’s live bassist would expand the line up on 3rd album, “Songs About Drowning”, adding another dimension to their sound. Jim owns and runs Bristol’s J Studio, having previously worked with Goldfrapp, Robert Plant and The Experimental Pop Band.

To have such a significant band, right at the top of their game is an absolute pleasure, and precisely what Level III wants to be associated with, cutting edge, exciting new music.

Support for the show comes from Melksham based multi-instrumentalist Jordan Whatley aka THE HOUND ON THE MOUNTAIN self described as “Alternative Rock project delving into distorted sounds and fantasy based lyrics to tie a miss match of influences such as Talking Heads and White Stripes” - for more information visit his website, here.
