The adaptation, by Constance Cox, promises to give its audience an evening of satire on the manners and protocol of aristocratic society of early 19th Century England
The story is based around a shy and timid Fanny Price who is sent by her impoverished family to live with the wealthy relations at Mansfield Park. She grows up with her four cousins, and is treated harshly as the poor relation.
In typical Jane Austen style, the characters develop and entwine with intrigue and emotion throughout the play, and we wait to see if Fanny finds true happiness in the end.
The 11-strong cast are directed by Clive Baker, with set design by Julia Edwards.
Mansfield Park takes place at The Arts Centre, Old Town Swindon Wed- Sat 16th-19th November at 7.30pm
