Dave Edinburgh Comedy Award, Best Newcomer Nominee 2022 ROLLING STONE: TOP 15 SHOWS TO SEE AT THE FRINGE 2022 Following a highly acclaimed, sold-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe and a Dave Edinburgh Best Newcomer Award nomination, Josh Jones will be taking Waste Of Space around the UK this autumn, on his debut tour. Born and bred in Manchester, Josh is a breath of fresh air but a Waste Of Space –   at least that’s how he feels – when there is always some kind of drama unfolding in his life. But he’s come to  accept there are upsides to this, which have changed his life. Being gay and trying to break into stand-up at northern rugby clubs had its moments for Josh but it has certainly helped to shape him, and his comedy; he’s one of the most original voices to emerge from the North West for years and as well as performing at the biggest clubs in the UK, he’s making his name on TV, appearing on shows including: ITV’s Jonathan Ross’ Comedy Club and E4’s 8 Out Of 10 Cats - where he made an hilarious debut. 2021 saw Josh host BBC Three’s Fast Food Face Off, (which he has just been nominated for Best On Screen Talent in a Production at the RTS NI Programme Awards) and make guest appearances on Dave’s Late Night Mash, Comedy Central’s Undeniable, ITV2’s Iain Stirling’s CelebAbility and E4’s Reality News. This year has seen Josh appear as a regular on Sky Max’s Dating No Filter, Comedy Central’s new stand-up vehicle Comedy Central Live and Rhod Gilbert’s Growing Pains. In 2019 Josh was selected for the prestigious Pleasance Comedy Reserve and made it to the finals of the hotly contested BBC New Comedy Award, which he later returned to judge in 2021, and Hackney Empire’s New Act of the Year. Josh hosts his own hilarious historical-gossip podcast Dead Drama and has made guest appearances on Russell Kane’s Evil Genius and Tom Read Wilson’s Has Words With podcast. He is also tour support for Suzi Ruffell, Rob Beckett, Kiri
Pritchard-McLean and Russell Kane. TOUR DATES
