Girli brings a punk pop revival to Oxford

The bold, unapologetic punk pop-ster Girli comes to Oxford for the first time to give the city a shake up at The Bullingdon, April 3.

GIRLI’s music sits somewhere between bubblegum pop, punk and grime (she even released a single with grime originator Lethal Bizzle). Her empowering, tongue-in-cheek lyrics,in your face attitude, and retina-burning visuals turn every live show into a wild, brightly coloured house party.

Already confirmed to play Truck Festival in July, her reputation to cause a riot follows show-stopping performances at Bestival, LeeFest and The Great Escape last year, as well as adrenaline-fuelled shows support Declan McKenna, Oscar and Yonaka on the road.

Girli’s brash, vocal feminist message and razor-sharp hooks have won over much of the music press, with Zane Lowe, DIY, The Guardian and i-D all giving her real backing.

This promises to be a loud and affirming show at The Bullingdon and the all-female bill are completed byLondon pop vocalist Lion and Oxford’s own guitar-and-drums duo Wolfs.
