Gappy Tooth Industries announce line up for September gig in Oxford

Gappy Tooth Industries will be presenting a tripartite gig that will take place at Oxford’s Port Mahon this September.

Saturday 24 September will see performances from Dada Paradox, Dogmilk, and Octavia Freud.

Tickets will be priced at £5 on the door, or can be purchased at a slightly discounted rate online at https://www.wegottickets.com/gappytooth

The estimated running times for the evening are as follows:

7.30pm - Doors

8pm - Dada Paradox

8.50pm - Dogmilk

9.40pm - Octavia Freud

10.30pm - Curfew

Octavia Freud

Gappy Tooth says: “Octavia Freud (or Martin, as some know them) is Oxford’s one-stop shop for all things electronica, new wave, and just occasionally, flippant comedy.”

Their latest album has been garnering rave reviews, such as “This is an exceptional LP that your collection is incomplete without, and your summer will be significantly better for having this as the soundtrack” (Oxfordshire Music Scene), and “This is an album rich in variety, intelligence, wit and most importantly tunes that’ll worm their way into your head as you worm your way onto the dancefloor” (Nightshift).

Dogmilk

Gappy Tooth says: “Any band featuring members of previous GTI favourites Slate Hearts and Easter Island Statues has got to be worth the effort, right?”

As Nightshift recently said ion a live review, Dogmilk “have only played a handful of shows, and are standing in tonight at late notice, and they try on a handful of styles during their short set: grunge via 90s teen soundtracks, garage rock, Cure-style lamenting, uptight punk funk, an even a one-minute country-skank through ‘You’ve Got A Friend In Me’. Most likely their eclectic sound will settle in the coming months, but wherever they land will be a pleasure if it involves a band this sharp and crisp.”

Dada Paradox

Gappy Tooth says: “We’re very gratified to say that we have finally found a slot for Dada Paradox, who were booked to play our March 2020 gig, and we all know what happened there. Even more exciting, they’ve expanded beyond a duo in that time, so expect a kicking rhythm section. Take one inexplicable Modernist art movement, two ex-frontpersons of NYC’s new wavers The Larch, and some progressive retro-pop, and you’ll have Dada Paradox, a band that takes the opposing forces of psych rock and folk, smooshes them together, and runs away sniggering.”

“Brilliantly lyrics, darkly funny” New York Music Daily.  “Slacker pop with an anti-folk edge for the anti-Trump movement” Nightshift.  “A missing link between Ray Davies and Robyn Hitchcock” Lucid Culture.
