Be prepared to twist and tangle traditional tales at various workshops throughout October and November in Corsham and Bradford on Avon.
Ever fancied yourself as a wizard, imp or fairy but bored of the same old story? Come along and create your own tale, using characters from classic fairy tales and shaking up the plot, or pick modern day characters and create your own contemporary tale.
Find out what happens when Jack meets the Evil Step Mother and Little Red Riding Hood eats the wolf. Or when Hansel and Gretel have an iphone 7, and the bank manager wanders into the woods.
Use costume and music to create characters and atmosphere. Learn about theatre, build confidence, make new friends and have fun. Workshops are offered to Primary aged children and to young people at Secondary school in separate groups.
The Last Baguette makes fast-paced, irreverent physical comedy. They are theatre company in residence at Pound Arts, Corsham and tour to theatres, festivals and arts centres across the country. They have performed in the UK, France, Switzerland and Canada. The theatre they make is entertaining, accessible and eccentric.
The company lead weekly youth theatre sessions for young people at the Pound Arts, Corsham, which includes regular public performances.
They also lead community projects and arts events. Recent productions includes Dracula, a Terrifying Comedy, What’s the Matter? and Shake William Speare. Commissions include Dancing Back to 1914 (Wiltshire Council) Haunting Words (Wiltshire Creative Libraries), Summer Performance Challenge (Swindon Library) and Festival Street Theatre (Corsham Town Council).
These special Twisted Tales theatre workshops accompany our production The Little Match Girl, a warming tale for winter, touring December 2017.
