Dreamy singer-songwriter set to debut latest haunting album this month

American singer-songwriter Joey Costello is set to debut his latest album ‘The Wind Blows By’ bringing with it a resonance of Jeff Buckley’s soothing but harrowing contortions.

After releasing the single ‘So High We Lose Our Minds’, Joey Costello is adding to his ever-growing catalog with a brand new EP titled ‘The Wind Blows By’ paired with UK tour dates including Stroud’s Marshall Rooms, June 15.

Costello is an independent American Singer-songwriter whose songs have been described as soulful chart folk.  Listeners are stopped in their tracks by Joey’s mesmerizing voice which is best characterized as what would happen if you smashed together the tone of Jeff Buckley with the vocal range of Jimmy Somerville of Bronski Beat. That and a pinch of the smooth breathy deliveries of Damien Rice and Ray LaMontagne.

Costello’s EP lead track “The Wind Blows By”, features a dreamy, warm, and catchy opening single. Audiences can then entrance themselves in a calming emotional journey with earnest narratives and emphatic lyrics.  The second single “Where I Long To Be” depicts the image of a man yearning for his lost lover to whom he has betrayed, with the hopes of winning her back by singing on her doorstep.

Joey spent 2018 releasing 5 new singles, including “So High We Lose Our Minds” from which its visual has become an enlightening image for addiction awareness. This led to BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio playing Costello’s music during a busy year of UK & USA live shows in 2017-18 where he also supported BBC Horizon Award winning artist Blair Dunlop, and Emma Stevens.
