Corsham's Pound Arts Centre launches Blue Sky Festival for 2017

The Pound Arts centre will be hosting this years Blue Sky festival from 13 to 18 June.

The Blue Sky Festival is a joyous, warm, quirky festival of the arts featuring performances, exhibitions and workshops. Some of the events are Free and most are suitable for all the family.

This year there is music, theatre and workshops for all the family from the likes of Bella Hardy, Gas Giants, comedian Lucy Porter and a special showing of La La Land.

Corsham Festivals is the festivals strand of Pound Arts and comprises two four day festivals – the Blue Sky Festival in June, which is a celebratory family festival featuring many free events, and Magic and Mayhem, a festival of cabaret and contemporary arts in November.

The Pound Arts Trust Limited, a charity registered by guarantee, is responsible for running The Pound, the arts hub for north Wiltshire based in Corsham; Corsham Festivals; and Rural Arts touring across Wiltshire and South Gloucestershire.

The Pound is an arts venue and community hub for people living and working in and around north Wiltshire. Refurbished in 2006/7 following an investment of £1.2 million by North Wiltshire District Council, The Pound offers rehearsal and workshop spaces, a 100-seat auditorium, a gallery space and café bar.

Three seasons of performances, film, participatory arts events and exhibitions are promoted at The Pound and other venues in north Wiltshire every year. In summer 2012 three studio spaces and a community workshop were created which house three resident emerging visual artists.

Rural Arts Touring comprises two rural touring schemes: Rural Arts Wiltshire and Rural Arts South Gloucestershire. Pound Arts works in partnership with volunteer promoters in up to 60 villages across the two counties to stage around 100 professional performances and 20 participatory arts events every year.
