Arlington Arts present: Mandolinquents' Christmas Special

Popular Arlington Arts performers, Mandolinquents are back with their Christmas special on Thursday December 14.

Mandolin magic and much merriment! The Mandolinquents seasonal extravaganza has become a highlight of the Yuletide calendar. Join our virtuosic foursome for a perfectly pitched pre-Christmas mix of classics, carols and comedy. Mandolins, guitars, banjo, fiddle, voices (theirs and yours) as well as surprising surprises.

The group consists of:

Simon Mayor: Britain’s leading ‘hot-fingered mandolin virtuoso’, fiddler, poet and wit

Hilary James: Resident nightingale and wielder of the mighty mandobass

Richard Collins: Three-time UK banjo champion, mandolinist and joke generator

Gerald Garcia: Classical guitar maestro and chilli eating champion

If you’ve seen them here before or heard them on BBC’s Friday is Music Night or In Tune you’ll know just what a treat is in store.

BBC Radio 3 said: “Wicked and wonderful, the fabulous Mandolinquents.”

Fantastic fun with a unique mix of classical showstoppers, beautifully sung folk ballads, 1930s hot swing fiddle, tangos, and bluegrass banjo party-pieces – not to mention sparkling Mayor mandolin originals and yes, Hilary’s mandobass is real! A great evening is guaranteed.

Tickets are available for £14 online at www.arlingtonarts.co.uk, or by calling the Box Office at 01635 244246.
