And all that jazz

Emily Wright and The Royals head to Calne for Marden House’s Jazz Club October 10.

I’m 26 seconds into Hit That Jive Jack and I feel like I’ve stepped into a Woody Allen film, comically running around Paris on a mission to forever discover my character’s true purpose. As per any Allen film, this of course lasts throughout the movie’s entire duration.

But if Emily Wright The Royals scored the whole soundtrack, I’d pray this forever remained a mystery.

Based in Bristol Emily Wright and jazz quartet, The Royals, have been toe-tapping their way to acclaimed success from Bristol Harbour Festival and Harbourside. Light a few candles and pour a glass of wine, this band immerse you in authentic jazz cafe vibes.

On Emily vocals, The Telegraph hailed her as: “terrifically talented.”

So if you then cue in some double bass and piano, I’m left with a surreal confidence that I could break out a Fred Astaire routine. They also have this undeniable attractiveness, not too dissimilar to Caravan Palace, which encapsulates their musical vibrancy.
