WrdeUp Festival's 2017 line-up is now complete with Los Palmas 6, Felix and The Funk and many more to look forward to!

Highworth’s WrdeUp Festival returns in 2017, with an eclectic line-up of musical talent and family fun on offer on July 8.

As well as headliners Los Palmas 6, WrdeUp will welcome Felix and the Funk, Bleep Machine, Mixtape, Boogie Me, Spidasense, Promise Land, Lewis Blissett and a group from the School of Rock at Warneford School.

Organisers have also confirmed Danzone providing dancing and exercise, Falding’s Fandango’s with Circus skills and a Magic show as well as Swindon Reptile Rescue bringing various animals for petting and viewing.  Other activities such as face painting, hair braiding, henna and a photo booth will also be available.

Starting as a celebration for the junior football club when winning the South West Community club of the year award, WrdeUp is actually four years old this year.

The first event in 2013 culminated with a Take That Tribute act headlining. This proved very popular and many people asked if it could be done again, so in 2014 a new festival “Higworts” took place with Kingsland Road from X-Factor as the headliners with an ABBA tribute act as support.

Again with great weather and atmosphere at the 2014 event, it was suggested the event should go again in 2015 and with a rebranding to “WrdeUp” the event became a showcase of both local groups and a tribute act who brought the music of Michael Jackson alive and headliners Dr and The Medics.

In 2014 the event raised money for Wiltshire Air Ambulance and the Junior Football club whilst in 2015 they supported the Prospect Hospice and again the Junior Football club.

WrdeUp are a not for profit organisation and rely heavily on the support of the local community for funding via ticket sales and business for sponsorship.
