Swindon gets another taste of star treatment as ex-Queens of the Stone Age and Kyuss drummer comes to The Vic

Thursday 3 November will be a momentous occasion for music fans in Swindon, as ex-Kyuss and Queens of the Stone Age drummer Alfredo Hernandez brings his new band Avon to The Victoria.

If you’re a fan of Alfredo’s previous acts, you’re sure to enjoy the pulsing, desert rock soundtrack of Avon, who have been acclaimed across the world as a supergroup that knows how to entertain.

The fact that they are bringing their current UK tour to Swindon is just another example of how powerful the town’s music scene is becoming under the guidance of music promoters like Songs of Praise, who will be overseeing this rocking show.

Together, Avon produce a sound that is psychedelic, raw, melodic and has something to say. Their musical bond comes from years of playing in the respective bands often together in California’s desert cities, Los Angeles and European tours.

Support on the night comes from two superb local acts in the form of Rewire the Time Machine and Phoxjaw. Tickets are currently on sale but are flying out the door at £6 advance. If you don’t grab them now, expect to pay more on the door for this epic rock show!
