Sir Chris Bonington treks down to Salisbury City Hall to tell his fascinating mountaineering tales

Sir Chris Bonington is Britain’s best known mountaineer and one of the most successful expedition leaders in history. He began climbing at the age of 16 and has undertaken 19 Himalayan expeditions, including 4 to Everest, but regaling you with tales of his adventures at Salisbury City Hall on October 24 may be his toughest challenge to date!

Sir Chris is renowned for having made many first ascents in the Alps and all the greater ranges of the world and was the first mountaineer on the lecture circuit.

This autumn, he will present his “Life & Times”, covering his sixty years spent in the mountains. With original images and raw footage, this is a rare opportunity to hear about some of the greatest climbing adventures of the twentieth century.
