Show of Hands: The Cathedrals Tour

2017 sees Show of Hands bring their magic to the most sacred of spaces – England’s finest cathedrals, starting with Salisbury’s.

There aren’t many venues across the UK, and beyond, that British folk ambassadors Show of Hands have not already conquered.

With their inimitable delivery of sensational folk, roots and acoustic music, they’ve covered a lot of ground but October 4 presents a first at Salisbury Cathedral.

During October and November, Steve Knightley and Phil Beer travel the length and breadth of England to fill our most ancient and iconic buildings with the sound of the people.

Joined by Miranda Sykes, the award-winning trio blend the sharpest songwriting with unrivalled musicianship – an enduring recipe that never fails to captivate.

Having sold out the Royal Albert Hall five times over, the formidable Show of Hands continue to dominate the UK folk scene, and now it’s time for something a little different.

Steve said: “In 2010 we played a few landmark cathedrals, and it just… worked. There’s something about the ambience, sanctity and rich history of a cathedral that lends itself perfectly to what we do.

“It’s going to be a really special tour. We’ll be bringing out some of the classics of course, but we’re also excited to be able to showcase brand-new material in truly unique settings.”

It’s well-known that Steve and Phil are passionate about supporting emerging talent and have a knack for spotting a future star. So, in keeping with that tradition, special guest Kirsty Merryn joins the tour – a singer/songwriter who delights audiences with her dramatic yet introspective individual sound.
