Royal Wootton Bassett will come alive with the sound of music in June

During June, Royal Wootton Bassett will be filled with singing and music. The wonderful sound of creative musicians, young and old, from all over Wiltshire and beyond, performing at the town’s very own Music festival.

We welcome everyone to come along to hear and celebrate some of the amazing talent that exists just on our doorsteps. We have had over 300 entries this year, involving over 700 performers, with a wide range of instruments from piano and singing to church organ and harp. As always, the standard will be high.

The festival runs from the 23 June to 2 July.

Some of the key ‘not to miss’ events during the festival will be:

  • Singing at the Memorial Hall - Friday 23 to Sunday 25 June
  • Schools and Youth & Community Choirs at St.Bartholemew’s School- Thursday 29 June
  • Piano at the RWB Academy - Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 July
  • Instrumental at RWB Academy - Sunday 2 July

John Davies, Chair of the Music Festival said: “We hope lots of people are able to come along to hear the wonderful music and insightful comments from our expert adjudicators. It’s an opportunity enjoy the performances, maybe even pick up a tip or two, and to support a festival that is helping to boost the Arts in our local area. We would like to wish all of our entrants the best of luck.”

For details of all the performances, please look at the festival timetable on the website rwbaf.com. Tickets cost just £3.00 for adults (free for children) and can be purchased at the event on the day. For more information, please contact John Davies 01793 852749 or email jandjdavies12@gmail.com.
