On this surprising occasion, Saint Laurence’s Church in Reading welcomed one of Britain’s’ biggest rock bands and festival headliners, for an acoustic Reading & Leeds warm up show under their prestigious roof. Knowing the gig was going to be an intimate set in a beautiful 900 year old Church, this did not stop the festival spirit soar amongst the people of Reading. The fans had been queuing hours before their favourite rock band took the stage. Portaloos were placed outside as if it was the festival itself and the excitement was unreal. Everyone started collecting their wristbands and purchased their alcoholic beverages at the Church bar, waiting for Reading Festival headliners Kasabian to create a memorable night for the die hard fans. The atmosphere was building up to something special. Kasabian casually walk on stage as if it was any other normal gig for them whilst 400 people in a church are screaming at them. Front men Tom Meighan and Sergio Pizzorno had the audience belt out every single one their songs back to them, echoing through the beautiful acoustics of the church. They performed favourites such as Underdog, Psycho and Stevie. The band ended their set with L.S.F, where the audience repeatedly chanted the chorus as they were leaving the stage. The crowd were hoping for an encore but unfortunately didn’t manage to squeeze another song out of the rock band.
