National Theatre Encore: Hamlet at Salisbury Arts Centre

Academy Award nominee Benedict Cumberbatch takes on the title role of Shakespeare’s great tragedy.

It’s one of the English language’s best-loved plays, enjoyed by huge audiences in Barbican’s monumental, visually stunning production.

Now seen by over 750,000 people worldwide, the NT Live’s original best selling 2015 broadcast returns to cinemas screening at Salisbury Arts Centre October 5.

As a country arms itself for war, a family tears itself apart. Forced to avenge his father’s death but paralysed by the task ahead, Hamlet rages against the impossibility of his predicament, threatening both his sanity and the security of the state.

Directed by Lyndsey Turner (Posh, Chimerica) and produced by Sonia Friedman Productions, the play features epic, lavish staging and costumes which look beautiful on screen.

National Theatre Encore: Hamlet screens at Salisbury Arts Centre on October 5 at 7.30 pm.

Tickets are £16, available online at  www.salisburyartscentre.co.uk or from Salisbury Arts Centre box office on 01722 321744.
