Less than a week to go until the Marlborough Literature Festival

The festival’s programme of events is due to start Thursday 30 September. 

This year’s Literature Festival will be made up of a mix of live and online events. It will run from 30 September - 3 October. 

The author line-up includes Elif Shafak, Colm Toibin, Sathnam Sanghera, Mick Herron, Jonathan Porritt and Gill Hornby. The festival’s patron Sir Simon Russell Beale will also lead the programme’s finale with a reading from Richard Davenport-Hines’ ‘A Night at the Majestic: Proust and the Great Modernist Dinner Party of 1922.’

A spokesperson for the festival listed some of the author talks that are on the ‘not to miss’ list:

  • Jon McGregor with ‘Lean Fall Stand’ - Sunday 3 October, 6pm
  • Matthew Dooley with ‘Flake’ - Saturday 2 October, 6pm
  • Ian Ridley with ‘The Breath of Sadness’ - Sunday 3 October, 10am
  • Lucy Jago with ‘A Net for Small Fishes’ - Sunday 3 October, 12pm
