It's a Canadian comedy takeover at Oxford's LOL Comedy Club

An evening of spectacular comedy is heading to Oxford with a horde of critically acclaimed comedians, May 12.

Canadian Sean Collins has 25 years experience in stand up comedy, with initial success leading to ‘Best Male Stand Up’ nominations at the Canadian Comedy Awards, a Just For Laughs Gala set at Montreal and his own hour long special on Canadian television. Since residing in the UK, Sean quickly established himself as a strong performer.

His appearance on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow on BBC 1 proved a portentous gig for Sean, affording him the opportunity to perform at The Real Variety Showcase for Jeremy Lee Associates, the UK’s biggest specialist agency for after dinner speakers, awards hosts and cabaret for corporate, industry and public sector events. For his performance that night he was awarded the ‘Expert Choice’ as he ‘struck the most corporate note of the evening’ (The Stage 2013). Jeremy Lee Associates considered him the ‘stand out act’.

Brian & Krystal adopt the persona of depressed, desperate, down-on-their-luck comedians, browbeaten by the disappointments the world relentlessly heaps upon them. It may sound depressing but in fact its hilarious! The often cheesy gags are all upbeat and sold with trademark pizzazz. The songs, likewise, are a subtle and contradictory mix of the cheerful and the cheerless, which are great. The duo have worked all over the UK as well as Germany, South Africa, Gozo, Spain, Denmark, Ireland, Australia and of course… Peckham. They have a laugh per minute rate that is amongst the highest in the entire comedy business and are sure to put a smile on anyone’s face.

A highly distinctive performer and deft writer of finely crafted jokes, Peter Brush unassumingly takes the stage with his slight bespectacled frame and scruffy hair, before consummately conquering it with an arsenal of razor sharp quirky one-liners and peerlessly original routines, all delivered in an amusingly awkward fashion. Peter has been a finalist in a variety of local and national comedy competitions including the BBC New Comedy Award 2013, as well as winning the Harrogate Comedian of the Year 2012. He has also written for BBC Radio 4’s The News Quiz, The Show What You Wrote and Newsjack. Peter has tour supported for both Arthur Smith (2013) and Stephen K Amos (2015-2016).

Twenty years ago aged 19, Adam Vincent was a fresh child prodigy becoming one of the top acts in Australia. Word quickly spread to the UK and he’s now a well loved joke machine over here too. His talents have even been noticed in the US too when he was one of three comics chosen to represent Australia in a the highly prestigious NBC’s Last Comic Standing. He’s also a well respected and regular writer for Adam Hills ‘Last Leg’ (Channel 4). Many  of the jokes you hear on that show have been written by this Aussie genius.
