Howling Half Term at The Story Museum

This February Half Term The Story Museum are celebrating the Year of the Dog with a packed programme of events and activities – you’d be barking mad to miss it!

This year The Story Museum is marking the Year of the Dog for February Half Term with an exciting programme of events and activities for families. The week kicks off with Andrew Cope and his Spy Dog book series. Audiences will have the chance to meet Lara, the real dog who inspired the world’s first ever Spy Dog, and get the inside track on the Spy Dog network. The dog theme continues with a day of fun fast-paced drama workshops in which you can create your own story, complete with props and costumes based on Dodie Smith’s classic children’s novel 101 Dalmatians.

Those who enjoy their funny bone being tickled won’t want to miss Kids Comedy with Tiernan Douieb. Tiernan presents a hilarious hour-long show featuring all the best of comedy but without the rude bits – perfect for ages six plus and their families. For younger visitors, Carnegie nominated performance poet Joseph Coelho will be paying the museum a visit as he shares his brilliant new book Luna Loves Library Day. Every week Luna looks forward to one special day. The day when she discovers magic among the library shelves. The day she gets to spend with her dad. The perfect for literature lovers ages 3 plus. Finally, the week finishes with a very special visitor – everyone’s favourite dog – Kipper! Little ones and their families can meet Kipper and then hear one of his brilliant stories.

Whether you have a passion for pooches or you’re just looking for a great day out with the family, we’re confident that there’s something for everyone at The Story Museum this February Half Term.

February Half Term at The Story Museum runs from Saturday 10 – Sunday 18 February.
