As the UK’s only black-tie boutique festival, Henley Festival is glamour personified, offering Michelin starred food, award winning comedians, Turner Prize nominated artists and the biggest names in popular, world, jazz and classical music. Many festival goers arrive by boat, and the green lawns of the festival are transformed into a Great Gatsby vision, as black tie clad revellers spill across the festival site, champagne in hand, while fireworks explode overhead.
Winner of Best Headline Performance 2017 at the UK Festival Awards, Henley Festival has played host to many of the world’s most celebrated musicians for over three decades. Previous headliners have included Elton John, Shirley Bassey, The Beach Boys, The Jacksons, Tom Jones, Lionel Richie, Madness, Pet Shop Boys, Burt Bacharach, Jamie Cullum, Jessie J, All Saints and Chaka Khan. As well as popular music, Henley Festival has stages dedicated to Jazz, Classical, World and breaking music across the festival site.
Comedy was added to the festival line up in 2015 with performances from Al Murray, Reginald D Hunter, Tim Minchin, Angus Deayton, Nina Conti, Sarah Pascoe and Russell Kane. Michelin starred chefs cooking up a feast in the past few years have included Albert Roux, Michel Roux Junior and Daniel Clifford, while artists from Damian Hirst to Salvador Dali have had work exhibited at the festival.
Established 35 years ago as a classical music charity event Henley Festival continues to be run on a not for profit basis supporting charitable projects at both a national and local level. And while the festival is an adult only event, Sunday daytime sees the festival turned into a huge playground for families and kids of all ages, with activities and entertainers, who captivate and enchant.
Henley Festival’s 2018 line up will be announced in January with tickets going on sale at the start of February.
