Arts & Culture

EVERYONE loves a festival, absolutely everyone. Whether you get to go or just hear about the chaos through the grapevine. Or in the case of Reading and Glasto you can sit back and watch the muddy mayhem from the comfort of your armchair (apparently). Either way, the music and the fun of the fields is infectious. So much so that hundreds of smaller festivals have been springing up across the year.

Boondocks, the little festival in Malmesbury that this year hosted Bite The Buffalo, Bare Knuckle Parade, Babyhead, The Rinky Dinks and The Showhawk Duo, is a crowd funded, two day event that took place in July. If you were lucky enough to go and experience the first festival, and you really enjoyed what the guys at Boondocks are trying to accomplish, now is your chance to say so!

Boondocks has been nominated and¬†short listed¬†for 4 (yes 4!) awards at the UK Festival Awards in November.¬†It’s proper prestigious too - last year Glastonbury picked up the award for Best Major Festival and this year, Peter Gabriel will be receiving his EFA Lifetime Achievement award there.

The winners are currently being decided by public vote (weighted according to the festival capacity) and you can vote for The Boondocks Festival in the 4 categories they have been shortlisted for:

- BEST NEW FESTIVAL

- BEST SMALL FESTIVAL

- BEST FAMILY FESTIVAL

And the award that everyone is after;

- BEST TOILETS!!!

You can vote here and voting closes on Sunday 25th October. So if you want to support this brand new festival and help it be recognised nationally as one to watch, get your voice heard and vote!
