Arlington Arts presents the first ever Arlington Arts Lockdown Live Gig in Newbury

Join Newbury’s Joe Hicks at 8pm on Friday 03 April followed by Megan Dixon Hood at 8:30pm. Both artists will be performing for approximately 15 minutes via their own Facebook pages promoted by Arlington Arts.

Newbury Singer-Songwriter Joe Hicks blends pop, blues and folk influences, combining intricate guitar composition with classic pop song-craft. Since his first single release at the start of 2017, Joe has racked up over 1 Million digital streams, was made ‘BBC Introducing Artist of the Week’ across the U.K Radio, has toured the UK and Europe including over 30 Sofar Sounds shows and a slot supporting BRIT award winner Sam Fender.

Megan Dixon Hood brings enchanting vocals combined with haunting lyrics carry over ethereal and climatic sounds. A sound of ethereal alternative art rock/folk, a fairytale world that hints at Florence + the Machine and AURORA. Over the past couple of years, the Chesire born singer-songwriter has carried out a busy festival schedule including Rock the Farm, Great Escape Festival, Cornbury, Glass Butter Beach, Middlewich Folk Festival, Sidmouth Fringe Festival and supported Rag’N’Bone Man.

Despite being closed, Arlington Arts are remaining active online during the lockdown as they are also currently running their own Lockdown Photography series sharing uplifting images from customers daily permitted exercise. On Monday, they hosted their first online story telling with Kirsty from Rhubarb Theatre reading Little Red Riding Hood.
