A star-studded and hilarious line up kicks off in Oxford

The New Theatre has teamed up with Laugh Out Loud Comedy Clubs to bring a new monthly weekend comedy show to Oxford.

The night which starts on Saturday 14 October is ran by comic Damion Larkin who has put together a stellar line up of top comedians many of whom appear regularly on your TV screens.

When asking Damion how he came to be a comedian its turns out he used to be a stockbroker. He explains: “I pretty much gave it up overnight having decided to be a comedian. I had no idea how to go about it and as a result have virtually no money left but Im still smiling!

“Seeing as the nights I run in York, Stoke and Southport are doing well after a lot of hard work, and some absolutely brilliant shows, I think the residents of Oxford will love this comedy club and make it a hilarious success!

“I’m hoping the people of Oxford  will get behind it so it can become a permanent fixture for the city. In fact its vital that people support the night as comedy clubs have been closing all over the country. So if you like comedy it really is a case of use it or lose it!”.

Headlining the first night show on Friday October 21 is the awesome Ben Norris, most recognised from Mock The Week, Never Mind The Buzzcocks and They Think It’s All Over.

GQ Magazine said: “The most polished stand-up you are ever likely to see.”

Norris is ably supported by a full bill of hilarious acts including Let’s Dance for Comic Relief winner Charlie Baker Never Mind the Buzzcocks and co-star Harry Hill in Harry Hills teatime.

Each show will have four different comedians including the MC/Host. If you cant make the first one on October 14 there’s plenty of other dates coming up.

The line ups certainly look very strong and it’s assured this will be a top notch event.

Laugh Out Loud Comedy have previously booked the likes of Jason Manford, John Bishop, Russell Howard and Sarah Millican so get on down to Oxford’s New Theatre and see more brilliant comedians!
