Wychwood Festival launches school competition for young show stars

Wychwood Festival returns to Cheltenham racecourse for its 14th annual year from the June 1 to 3 2018.

Taking place in the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside, Wychwood Festival 2018 will play host to over 100 incredible acts performing across four stages alongside an exciting programme of music, dance and arts workshops, a circus school and talks, debates and comedy for all ages. With optional idyllic camping and something to satisfy all appetites, Wychwood has been nominated as ‘Best Family Festival’ every year at the UK Festival awards, making it the perfect prize for vibrant and happy kids.

Consistent with Wychwood Festivals focus on fun, the talent competition will follow suit and offer a cheerful environment for children to form friendships and experiment with their own creativity. In order to enter, contestants must have the approval of their parent or guardian and submit a one-to-two minute video of their talent to the submissions team. The winner will be awarded 1 x Wychwood Festival Family ticket consisting of festival entry for two adults + two children (15 and under)

This years family lineup includes the legendary duo Dick & Dom. Wychwood will also host hula-hooping from Marawa’s Majorettes, an opening night ceilidh from Ceilidh Liberation Front and a great programme of participatory activities including swing dance lessons, arts and crafts, music quizzes, crazy chemistry, street theatre, magic, circus skills and much more. Plus Wychwood have announced six new venues across the festival including The Storybox where festival-goers can find authors Andy Seed, Gareth P Jones and Gemma Hastilow, Tony de Saulles and many more.

Wychwood Festival adult tickets are now £147.50 for the weekend. Children under 5 go free.
