WHAT'S ON: The Beehive give you their fixtures for the month of May

It may be a small pub, but The Beehive’s got a huge personality with an even bigger events line-up for the next month.

On at The Beehive, Swindon, in May:

Poker Tournament every Monday 8.00pm.

Thursday May 3, 8.30pm: Sons Of The Delta - Formed by two of the top bluesmen in the SouthWest UK, Mark Cole and Rick Edwards. They play a no-nonsense blend of electric and acoustic blues which includes traditional blues plus new originals. Their music also features occasional sidesteps into other American roots styles such as gospel, hillbilly, bluegrass, cajun and texmex.

Saturday May 5, 8.00pm: Shocks Of Mighty DJs - Playing vintage ska and reggae.

Sunday May 6, 8.00pm: Cartoon Heroes - Featuring four of Swindon’s finest playing good time Bank Holiday sounds.

Tuesday May 8, 7.30pm: Oooh Beehive - We have something a little different for May. The first of our Oooh Beehive takeovers where the hosts of a fellow Open Mic night join us as our headliners. This month we have the 3 Ps. Emma Pursehouse, Steve Pottinger and Dave Pitt from Poets, Prattlers and Pandemonialists coming to knock all our socks off! https://www.facebook.com/OoohBeehive

Sunday May 13, 7.30pm: Beehive Quiz Night - A monthly quiz, normally held on the first Sunday of the month.

Monday May 14, 8.30pm: The MESS Session - Folky, rootsy jam session in the Bottom Bar. All welcome.

Thursday May 17, 8.30pm: Lewis Clark And The Essentials - Based around the core trio of Lewis Clark (guitar & vocals), Rob Grist (drums & piano) and Max Mees (double/electric bass), the group combines their diverse and shared interests in blues, folk and soul to create a dynamic and distinctive live sound. Their musical style draws on their love of rhythm and blues and explores an eclectic range of influences including traditional British folk, American roots music and wider European traditions. www.lewisclark.co.uk

Sunday May 20, 8.00pm: The Soul Box DJ - Playing groovy vintage tunes.

Thursday May 24, 8.30pm: Keegan McInroe - His music weaves threads from old country, old blues and folk together with his own unique voice and perspective, creating an original tapestry of American roots music, earthy and lyric driven. www.keeganmcinroe.com
