Wadworth's Shire horses paint Devizes pink for breast cancer awareness

Wadworth, the Devizes-based pub operator and family brewer, has teamed up with the Devizes Branch of Cancer Research UK to help ‘Turn Devizes Pink’ and raise breast cancer awareness during ‘Pink Fortnight’.

Throughout the campaign, which runs from October 2 to October 16, the brewery’s much-loved Shire horses will complete their daily deliveries wearing pink ribbons.

To catch the attention of locals, the dray the horses pull will also be decorated in pink.

Sarah Lane, Devizes Branch of Cancer Research UK committee member, said: “We are delighted that Wadworth and their famous Shires are supporting our efforts to raise money and awareness for breast cancer throughout Pink Fortnight. The Shires join many shops and businesses throughout the town that will be turning pink for the occasion.”

Martin Whittle, head horseman at Wadworth, added: “This is such a worthwhile charity and I am so pleased the Shires have an opportunity to raise cancer awareness in Devizes. Archie, Max and our new boy Sam will wear pink with pride for the next two weeks.”

There’s nothing left to do now except get out there and join them!
