Wadworth brews spookily sweet Treacle Treat ale for Halloween

Wadworth, the Devizes-based family brewer and pub operator, has brewed a limited edition Treacle Treat beer for Halloween.

Wadworth, the Devizes-based family brewer and pub operator, has brewed a limited edition Treacle Treat beer for Halloween. Brand new to Wadworth’s seasonal ale range, it is a ‘ghoulishly good’ dark ale, with an ABV of 4.2% and brewed using Target hops, Pale Ale, Crystal, Brown and Black malts. Black treacle has long been associated with the celebration of Halloween and so Wadworth has sweetened this autumn ale with treacle syrup, along with liquorice root. Andy Weaver, head brewer at Wadworth, comments: “The addition of treacle syrup makes this one of the sweetest and most distinctive tasting Wadworth beers to date. As a result, we see Treacle Treat appealing to new and emerging dark ale drinkers as well as the enthusiasts.” Treacle Treat is available across the Wadworth pub estate throughout October and in bottles, from the Wadworth online shop and visitor centre, from Monday October 16 – priced at £2.10. The eye-catching pump clip and bottle packaging is likely to grab the attention of customers, with artwork inspired by famous Mexican holiday ‘Day of the Dead’.
