Locals can join the invitation-only gig by buying a share in TOAD before the event, from www.crowdcube.com/toad. Shares start at £10. 
Romeo, from a band described as “past masters at making music that lifts the spirits”, will be joined by Robin Bennett from the Dreaming Spires and DJ Badger to create a special and exclusive evening for supporters of the city’s first and only spirit maker. The distillery opened for business in July with its first products Oxford Dry Gin and Oxford Rye Whiskey. Smashing all its early sales targets, it launched a crowdfund two weeks ago, enabling drinks enthusiasts to own a slice of the business for as little as £10. Those investing £100 or more will receive rewards including free distillery tours, TOAD membership and money off its top-notch spirits. 
The money raised will help fund future expansion including a restaurant, bar and visitor centre at the Oxford distillery and will also finance the laying down of cask whiskey made from heritage grain. Top-level investors will also get their own cask of whiskey. Founder Tom Nicolson explained: “We want the people of Oxford to really feel part of our TOAD family – and this crowdfunding drive makes that possible. Whether you are a £10 share owner or a top-tier investor, you are equally welcome to join in our big adventure. This Thursday’s gig with its line-up of great musicians is just the start”.
