The weekend starts on a Thursday this week, and The Vic in Swindon is the place to be!

Looking to kick off the festive month with a bang? The Vic in Swindon are doing just that with three exceptional shows over this first long weekend!

The Vic Shudders Dec 2016 Tonight (Thursday 1 December) sees Songs of Praise bringing about the return of local driving indie-country-rock legends The Shudders, bringing their incredible vocal harmonies, screaming guitar, warm acoustic lines and a commanding rhythm section to the fore.

Support tonight comes from Jonny Payne (without The Thunder) and his influences that journey from roots, soul, gospel and blues, and ends up somewhere in the Windrush Valley Delta AND on kicking it all off is the unstoppable slide guitar force of nature that is Jim Blair (who you may know from Hip Route).

Tickets and entry for this show are priced at the very reasonable £3, so why not get down early and check them all out?!

The Vic Catch 22 Dec 2016Then tomorrow night (Friday 2 December) sees the thoroughly professional and equally talented Catch 22 ride into town from the wilds of the Wiltshire countryside.

Boasting a huge set list from 50s rock and roll to the floor filling dance hits fresh from the charts, Catch 22 will make your party go out with a bang!

With energetic live performances, and party atmosphere will be created by great sound quality with the use of a pro speaker set up and a dance floor filled with lights and even a smoke machine! A REAL SMOKE MACHINE!!

Free entry for this show from 8:30pm

Syntronix The Vic Dec 2016And then on Saturday 3 December we have a very different returning powerhouse, with an 80s night hosted by Syntronix. One of the UKs longest running 80s Tribute bands, Syntronix were formed in 2006 in Swindon to perform the synthesizer music that became the sound to define the early 80s.

Depeche Mode, OMD, Ultravox, Gary Numan, Visage, Human League, Kraftwerk….. the list goes on. The greatest synth based bands of the 80s faithfully reproduced by top musicians and programmers, then delivered with top vocals.

The whole show is supported by a fully synchronised DMX light show that puts many static rigs to shame. Every song has its own pre-programmed light show (watch for the strobing on New Orders Blue Monday!!)

Tickets for this are £6 advance or £8 on the door, so get them whilst you can and live it up like its 1985!
