The very best of Celtic punk comes to Newbury

Experience some of the very best in Celtic Punk, Sir Reg performs at Arlington Arts on Saturday 13 October.

Sir Reg are an energetic six-piece Celtic punk band. On vocals is Brendan, an Irishman who left his hometown of Dublin for Sweden to fulfil his dream of putting together the most kick-ass band possible. Karin, the violinist, is a tiny and fiery redhead from Sweden who has a tendency to leave jaws open with her fiddle skills. The other members Mattias L (drums), Mattias S (bass), Filip (mandolin) and Chris (electric guitar) all have diverse musical backgrounds, and together as Sir Reg they are having the time of their lives – making and playing music they all love.

With songs about everything from the issues of modern day society to finding the right bar on a Saturday night, combined with strong melodies and explosive live shows, Sir Reg have made a name for themselves in the Celtic punk and rock scene.

Since the birth of the band in 2009 they have released four critically acclaimed albums and have performed on many of Europe’s biggest stages alongside bands like The Mahones, The Misfits, Thin Lizzy and The Real McKenzies. The band’s latest album Modern Day Disgrace (2016) has been hailed as their best to date by many fans and critics.

“Sir Reg are one of the leaders of the new wave of Celtic-punk and are very much snapping at the heels of the original scenesters …” - Mustard Finnegan, Shite ‘n’ Onions
