Swindon soprano set to raise the rafters for recital series

Swindon born Polly Leech mezzo soprano is returning with a sparkling programme of song for this year’s Swindon Recital Series at the Arts Centre on December 2nd.

Polly is currently based in Amsterdam following her year as a Young Artist at the National Opera Studio.  She has already built up an impressive repertoire, both secular and sacred, garnered many glowing reviews and received several awards.  Currently she is a Britten-Pears Young Artist.

For her latest appearance on the Swindon stage, Polly accompanied by Paul Turner piano, performs a programme that includes Elgar’s ever popular ‘Sea Pictures’, Schumann’s song cycle (Op.90) and glorious songs by Duparc.

Polly and Paul appear at Swindon Arts Centre on Sunday December 2nd at 7.30pm.

Tickets £15 (£12.50 concession), students £2.50, accompanied children (14 and under) free.  Booking fee applies.

Paul Turner is an experienced recitalist who has appeared at London’s leading venues and major UK festivals. He has given concerts in Europe and South America and worked with eminent singers and instrumentalists.

Swindon Recital Series was founded 25 years ago by Paul Turner. The Recital Series is committed to providing world-class chamber music in the Swindon area by presenting regular concerts of chamber music given by professional musicians. The Series takes place between September and April each year at various venues in and around Swindon, including the Wyvern Theatre and the Arts Centre.
