An intensive two day workshop will be held from Saturday July 11 to Sunday July 12. Urm, that will train you how to be a clown.

Not one of those scary clowns but a genuinely funny pratfalling bucket of water throwing circus clown. The workshop takes place at 101 Outdoor Arts Creation Space, Newbury and it costs £100.

This intensive workshop will focus on encouraging participants to respond truthfully in ridiculous situations using games, improvisations and ensemble exercises.

The weekend is about being funny without trying to be funny, being moving without trying to be moving and being ridiculous without trying to be ridiculous.

The workshop is run by John, an experienced teacher of clown and physical theatre/comedy, who is co-director of Peepolykus. Over the past 15 years he has run modules and taught summer-schools for a range of organisations including; The Circus Space, Bristol University, Rose Bruford, NYT, Lyric Hammersmith, West Yorkshire Playhouse. Directing includes shows for Spymonkey, Le Navet Bete, Rik Mayall, Nina Conti, Paul Merton, Kevin Spacey Foundation. He is currently developing a physical comedy project for the BBC and writing a Radio 4 series that will be broadcast in Autumn 2015. He is directing the 2015 Christmas show at the Tobacco Factory, Bristol. For more information please email kristofferh@cornexchangenew.co.uk
