To add to the list of acts that Sheer Music and Songs Of Praise already have had in Wiltshire (Jon Gomm, Dave McPherson, Jonah Matranga, Ben Marwood, Frank Turner to name a very few) they have knocked their heads together and managed to grab a MASSIVE gig for Swindon music lovers.

Sheer Music have somehow managed to book Sam Duckworth, formerly known as Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly, and he is bringing his grass roots tour to Swindon’s Victoria in December, in collaboration with Songs of Praise. Yes, you have read that correctly!

If you need a little reminding, check out the video below:

After a successful year touring his second solo album,‘Amazing Grace’¬†(released in spring of 2015 by Alcopop Records), Sam¬†is signing off the year with an off-piste tour. A rarity, for a man with over 1000 shows under his belt, in that (with the exception of one show) all these are in places new to Sam.

Taking in seven albums - a decade’s worth of material - this is a rare chance to see a retrospective acoustic set.

Support for the whole tour will come from Recreations.

Sam has¬†also released a free mixtape which he describes as set in a “dystopian punk rock wasteland‚Äù‚Ķ thirty¬†minutes of new ideas. From the familiar, to the exotic, to the disturbing.

“I’m a big fan of the mixtape format‚Äù¬†says Duckworth,¬†‚Äúit gives a bit more elbow-room for experimentation and allows things to take a unique journey‚Äù.

The mixtape, entitled ‘College Font’ is available to download from www.samduckworth.co.uk

or to stream at  https://www.mixcloud.com/onndigital/college-font/

We managed to grab 5 minutes of Sam’s time and ask him a few questions, which you can read in the upcoming December edition of The Ocelot (available across Oxfordshire and Wiltshire)
