Salisbury Playhouse’s ever-popular festive entertainment in The Salberg has a Victorian twist this year with A Little of What You Fancy which runs from Tuesday 20 December 2016 to Saturday 21 January 2017.

Created by Glyn Kerslake and Salisbury Playhouse’s Artistic Director Gareth Machin, A Little of What You Fancy promises to amuse and amaze with the very best of Victorian entertainment and is the perfect night out for winter evenings over the festive period.

Audiences have the chance to step back in time and experience the music, sketches, melodrama and magic from this era, with songs including The Boy I Love is Up in the Gallery, After The Ball is Over, I Do Like to be Beside the Seaside, Deck the Halls and Here We Come a Wassailing, presented by a multi-talented troupe of performers.

A Little of What You Fancy will be performed by an ensemble cast led by Sophie Evans, runner up on the BBC’s Over the Rainbow who subsequently went on to play the role of Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz at the London Palladium, and Glyn Kerslake, whose recent work includes London Calling and Come Fly With Me at Salisbury Playhouse, and who has previously played The Phantom in the West End production of The Phantom of the Opera.

Completing the cast are Adrian Grove, whose musical credits include Starlight Express and Les Misérables and the Salisbury Playhouse production of Stepping Out, and Rebecca Trehearn, who has performed in the Sheffield Theatres/West End production of Showboat and the Donmar Warehouse production of City of Angels.

A Little of What You Fancy is directed by Gareth Machin, with arrangements and musical direction by Glyn Kerslake. The production is designed by Zoe Squire with lighting by Dave Marsh and choreography by Joanne Redman.
