Salisbury does Strictly and raises thousands for charity

Fans of one of TV’s most popular dance shows enjoyed the best of ballroom first hand at a charity event which took place in Salisbury, March 10.

Supported by Smith & Williamson, the accountancy, investment management and tax group, the night of sequins, spandex and sparkles included performances by professional dancers Ian Waite and Kristina Rihanoff who ran through a range of dances from a repertoire that included the Cha Cha Cha, American Smooth, Salsa and Rumba.

Taking place at The Stones Hotel at Highpost, Salisbury, the night has so far raised £16,500 which will be split between Salisbury Hospice Charity and the Southern Spinal Injuries Trust.

The evening also included a competition where 10 couples performed a dance routine to try to win the Salisbury Does Strictly 2018 glitter ball. Judged by Ian and Kristina, the competition was won by Morvah and Taylor, two 16 year olds who danced a very impressive Paso Doble.
