Roy Bailey : Remembered. An archive recording that became a gem!

Roy Bailey: Remembered Archive recording turns out to be one very special album! Roy Bailey was a campaigner, a storyteller, a performer, an artist, a man of principle and peace, and a genius of his craft. Instrumental in the founding of Towersey Festival, he was also a long-standing regular festival performer and much-loved patron.
In 2019 Towersey Festival staged a very special concert to celebrate his life and legacy. Roy Bailey: Remembered was something truly special and included some of the giants of today’s folk scene as well as appearances from Roy’s own family and friends. The gig was recorded for posterity; something for the festival archives, but it turned out to be such an exceptional quality recording that with the blessing of everyone involved, the Festival decided to mix and produce a live album of the concert, in tribute to Roy’s
extraordinary legacy. The album features Tom Robinson, Martin Simpson, Andy Cutting, The Wilson Family, Nancy Kerr and James Fagan, The Spooky Men’s Chorale, John Kirkpatrick, Boff Whalley (Chumbabwamba), Ray Hearne, Marc Block, The Heap Family, Max Simpson and a host of family and friends from Roy’s life and musical journey. The album also includes audio introductions and tributes from the concert and is packaged
with full notes including all of Steve Heap’s (Mrs Casey Music) personally written introduction and notes as well as introductions from all the artists involved. Funded initially through Crowdfunder the album is now available as the original double CD with full sleave notes or as a digital download from Bandcamp.
