Rock Against Cancer returns to The Kings Arms in Wiltshire for another year of legendary rockers and good causes

Get ready to rub shoulders with rock legends and rock out for a good cause as The Kings Arms holds the sixth ‘Concert at the Kings’ for Rock Against Cancer on Saturday 20 May, to help raise awareness and much needed funds for three cancer charities.

The much-anticipated concert will see acts such as Alison Moyet, Wilko Johnson, Gerry & The Pacemakers and All Star Band - assembled by Sir Paul McCartney’s longstanding keyboard player Paul ‘Wix’ Wickens.  As well as joining McCartney on stage, ‘Wix’ has performed and recorded with the likes of Sir Elton John, Bob Dylan and Bon Jovi, amongst many others.

The Kings Arms, based in All Cannings, has been home to the rock-royalty event since its inception in 2012. The brainchild of sound engineer John ‘Grubby’ Callis, Andy Scott of Sweet and Richard Baulu of The Kings Arms, the concert supports Macmillan Cancer Support, Above & Beyond and Hope for Tomorrow as well as making a large donation to local needs in and around All Cannings.

Proceeds from both the ticket sales and the bar go towards charity. The Wadworth pub is being supported by the brewery, and Wadworth will be supplying its flagship beer, 6X and a ‘Concert Ale’ created specifically for the event. Additionally, concert-goers can sample Wadworth’s gluten-free 6X Gold, from a branded Mini on the day.

Concert at the Kings for Rock Against Cancer has raised more than £152,000 for the charities, smashing its original target of £50,000, thanks to incredible support from the local community and appearances by some of the world of rock’s most famous faces including Brian May, Roger Taylor, The Boomtown Rats and Jeff Beck.

Richard Baulu, Business Partner of The Kings Arms, said: “We want to give a huge thanks to everyone who has supported Concert at the Kings, over the last five years. The event has been a massive success, with people coming from near and far to raise money for such a great cause.

“Both John and Andy are still in the process of fighting prostate cancer, so they both know more than most about how important this is to us all. This year we want to raise more awareness and money ever before – and we hope to raise a glass in honour of everyone coming on the day.”

Tickets are on sale now at £60 and can be booked at https://www.wadworth.co.uk/concertatthekings. To find out more about Wadworth please visit: http://www.wadworth.co.uk/home and to
