Rain to run riot in Swindon

Swindon welcomes back local talent ‘Rain’, who are back after a brief quiet spell with a show at Swindon’s Level III on Thursday August 18 to mark the release of their latest single ‘Petrichor’.

Forming back in 2015, the band have been one of Swindon’s brightest exports in recent years - winning plaudits from esteemed music publications like Noisey (VICE), DIY and Upset magazine.

Fans of 90s bands Ride and Slowdive will find lots to love in the group’s hazy, lo-fi recordings as they tap into the distortion and elements of neo-psychedelia.

The full line-up includes Andy Oliveri and The Mountaineers (another band whose celebrity and journalistic endorsements are envy-inducing) and local bands Heriot and Dreamcatcher.

Harry Steel, the lead singer and director of their Petrichor video, said: “It’s a proper mates line-up.”

Doors for the show are at 19:30 and tickets are available online now for £4 or on the door for £6.
