Purrrfect children's theatre in The Tiger Who Came To Tea in Newbury

This July, author Judith Kerr’s tea-guzzling Tiger will roar onto the Corn Exchange stage in a truly magical, Olivier Award nominated production of The Tiger Who Came To Tea!

The doorbell rings just as Sophie and her mummy are sitting down to tea. Who could it possibly be? What they certainly don’t expect to see at the door is a big, stripy tiger! Packed with oodles of magic, sing-a-long songs and clumsy chaos, this is a stunning stage adaptation of the classic tale of teatime mayhem.

A musical play for little ones aged 3+ and their families, The Tiger Who Came To Tea is based on Judith Kerr’s much loved, best-selling children’s book. A talented, three person cast lovingly bring Sophie, her Mummy, Daddy and various other visitors to life, wearing costumes and performing on a set that replicates the books original illustrations as closely as possible, offering a real ‘page to stage’ experience for children and parents alike.

The well-known story has been adapted and directed by David Wood OBE, who is undisputedly the country’s leading writer and director of plays and musicals for children. His many other successes include The Gingerbread Man, The BFG, The Witches, and the Olivier Award winning Goodnight Mister Tom.

Join Sophie and her Mum, and their stripy, orange guest at The Tiger Who Came to Tea at the Corn Exchange, Newbury on Monday 24 July, 1.30pm, Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 July, 11am and 2pm.

Tickets cost £13.50 (£11 groups of 10+, Family tickets available). To book visit the Corn Exchange website www.cornexchangenew.com or call the Box Office on 0845 5218 218 (calls cost 2p per minute plus your telephone company’s access charge).
