Prime Youth Theatre is back online and in person

By Kieran Hadfield

Prime is returning with a 4-week pilot of mixed digital and physical theatre training workshops from the end of September.

Digital workshops will continue to run via Zoom whilst physical workshops will have between 8 and 12 young people depending on age. Each session will run for an hour with 15 minutes given for arrival and check in.

Prime’s home, the Wyvern Theatre, is still closed to the public, resulting in a relocation to the Social Hall at Drove Primary School, Swindon.

Physical Workshops will run on the following dates and times:

Mon 28 September - Weds 21 October

Group 1 (Years 4,5,6): Monday 4:30 - 5:45pm

Group 2 (Years 7,8,9): Wednesday 5:00 - 6:15pm

Group 3 (Year 10 to 25yrs): Tuesday 5:45 - 7:00pm

Each strand costs £20, with members paying £5 each week for the four weeks.

With the outbreak of the virus back in March, Prime have implemented strict procedures and changes to ensure sessions can go ahead safely. Youth arts settings are allowed more than 6 people in each workshop providing strict procedures are in place, and as such, each week Prime will ask each young person (or their responsible adult) to agree that they are fit and healthy. Only one group will meet per evening to reduce risk. Other school-based systems for cleaning and social-distancing will also be in place.

More information will be made available on registration.
