Oxford's New Theatre is being invaded by Pink Floyd-loving Aussies

Recreating the live experience of another band is really tough. Your average covers act will play a multitude of songs in a particular style in your local pub, but to truly imitate the greats you need to be very good at what you do.

To bring the right amount of wonder and amazement created by prog-rock legends Pink Floyd is therefore like climbing Everest for tribute acts.

But one group of Australian musicians have repeatedly toured the world, amazing audiences with their dazzling show in theatres and arenas full of discerning Pink Floyd fans, and come out the other side with praise and a loyal fan base to show for it.

The Australian Pink Floyd show is nothing short of mesmerising. Employing a full lighting display, lasers, inflatable pink kangaroos and figures from classic Pink Floyd tunes, you would be forgiven for thinking this was the original excessive rock group of the 1970s.

Having sold over four million tickets to concerts that have taken place in 35 countries, The Australian Pink Floyd Show is rightfully hailed as one of the most in demand touring entities currently operating.

These guys are so good they were even engaged by David Gilmour himself to perform at his 50th birthday celebration!

Having played so many shows, including the O2 Arena in London amongst other stadiums in the UK, catching them at Oxford’s New Theatre on October 17 is going to be as intimate as it gets with these guys.
