The Oxford School of Drama is rated as one of the top acting schools in the world. It is the youngest and smallest of the UK’s specialist drama schools and is based just outside Woodstock.
Spring Storm is a passionate and poignant deep South tale of rites of passage, love and heartbreak. It has all the hallmarks of Tennessee Williams’ later work (The Glass Menagerie and A Streetcar Named Desire).
Spring Storm follows the fortunes of a young girl, Heavenly Critchfield, who is torn between her childhood sweetheart, the ambitious Dick Miles, and the rich, well bred but painfully shy Arthur Shannon. Williams presents a world in which women’s desires are under threat from social pressure, puritan morality and familial duty, and where to stand up for what you want means risking everything.
The production is directed by Alice Malin who has just been appointed as Associate Director at Actors’ Touring Company (ATC) and designed by Georgia de Grey.
